Lancashire retail outlet Oswaldtwistle Mills is delighted to unveil Mountain Warehouse as the latest store to open on its premises.
The outdoor clothing and equipment specialists boast more than 130 stores across the UK but had yet to make its mark on East Lancashire.
It's a market the company was keen to get closer to, as the region has plenty of adventurers and keen walkers with the areas Pennine hills and many parks, as well as its proximity to the Lake District, and Yorkshire Dales.
Now customers will be able to access to its footwear, clothing, ski and snow gear, children’s lines, tents and equipment aimed at anyone from the occasional rambler to the serious explorer.
Mountain Warehouse will become Oswaldtwistle Mills’ largest concession, taking over a substantial 6,000 sq feet.
Mountain Warehouse property director Jim Pinder was very enthusiastic about the move, saying Oswaldtwistle Mills provides the perfect location for the retailer.
He said: “Oswaldtwistle Mills has everything we were looking for when we decided we wanted a shop in East Lancashire. The regular coach visits provide a constant source of footfall, the size of our plot will allow us to open up the tents we have for sale, and we found the whole place to have a very pleasant environment overall.”
Securing the Mountain Warehouse deal is yet another piece of good news for the Oswaldtwistle business, which also welcomed Edinburgh Woollen Mills to its premises in recent months; the two outlets have created 10 full time jobs at the Mills.
Managing director Boyd Hargreaves said: “We are very pleased that Mountain Warehouse chose us as the best location in East Lancashire. I'm familiar with the brand and the high quality of its products so I've no doubt they will do well here.
“I'm confident we'll be working with Jim and his team for some time to come.”
